This is hardly worth starting a new thread for but I'm wondering and maybe others are also
60 Hours of Continuous Prayer for the Elders: Oct. 17-19 @ Woodcliff Lake, NJ
This is what came to me in an email recently. That there should be continuous prayer from 3 a.m. on Thursday October 17th until Saturday October 19th at 5:30 p.m. For an upcoming elders meeting.
This is a recent phenomenon and comes across to me is very strange. I really wish to know who started it and why.
Are they making earth-shattering decisions lately that necessitate 60 hours of continuous prayer for this and last few meetings where it was also asked for 60 hours of continuous prayer
Are they starting to take themselves a little too seriously for what they do?
What exactly is everyone supposed to pray for? that they act like adults and get along? That they have the courage to stand up for what is really right?
Have the guts to finally give Pentsa and others the boot?
Seriously to wake up at 3 in the morning to pray for guys who some shouldn't be there and others don't have a clue what they're even doing? To pray for another mundane meeting? who the heck do they think they are?
Most of their meetings seem to produce a whole lot of nothing.
Is this 60 hours stuff for real?
I wonder if they still tape and release the meeting so the members can really know what's going on?

Instead of this hypocrisy the elders suppose to establish a FORUM to communicate plainly with the members. ,
The MEMBERS are the BODY of CHRIST !!! Not the elders .
This hypocrisy was created to mesmerize the naive -believers ... ; Who are believing in the Elders - Body ....but - not in GOD !!!!
If there are any true Christians among the Elders Body , they should open an E -mail number and direct phone number to have dialogue with them .
Why we have to pray for an Elders session ? Why can't we just talk to them to discuss our future ?
We don't need any secret decisions made "above" on us .
Please bear in mind , the Elders are voted by US and for US .

Not sure where the 60 hour rule comes in or why but the math in wrong. Starting at 3am on Thursday, 60 hours later is 3pm on Saturday. So it's actually 62.5 hours.
Hmmmm...does that mean they are available to be reached with questions or concerns anytime after 3am. Somebody quick please get me Paul Pentsa's phone numbers - yep - all of them. I have some 'questions' and/or 'concerns'. Or maybe ask what he needs praying for?

I have come to realize it a waste of time posting here. Nothing will be done about the criminal acts committed in this church by individuals with power. They support the activities, which makes them just as guilty as those who committed the acts.
Sometimes you have to walk away. Time will eventually catch up to these perpetrators, and justice is in God's hands.
I do hope that they will wake up and make it right. I also hope that anyone who believes the lies that these perpetrators say to justify their acts will think objectively and read some of the comments posted here.

no it doesnt have to be, but some tradition has entered in the church, that there is no biblical reason, that is known.
titus chapter 1, verse 5 states:
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:
apostle paul told titus to ordain elders......
titus is singular, and elders is referring to plural.
here one apostle ordained multiple elders.
