Can a committed married homosexual/non hetero couple be in a God honoring relationship? Can an openly homosexual person who is celibate still have a place in the ACC? It seems when people are not heterosexual in our church they end up "ghosting", How can we show more love ?

Is anyone willing to explore and rethink how we deal with people who are same sex attracted? What if we've been interpreting scriptures regarding homosexuality incorrectly?

LGBT & Christianity is a big topic today. The Bible however does not really say much about it. A few verses here and there, that's it. This leaves many things open to interpretation. Personally, I am against sending people to hell "by default", based on their, in this case, sexuality. I also don't think that the ACC, being so traditional, is the best place for "coming out of the closet". Chances to be socially accepted are slim.

Are you asking this question concerning yourself? If yes, do you feel you'd be "bullied because of it?

The Bible has the answers in a clear, pure and holy way:

(Genesis 9:20–27),
(Genesis 19:1–11),
(Leviticus 18:22, 20:13),
(1 Corinthians 6:9–10;
(1 Timothy 1:10),
(Romans 1:26–27).

Read slowly for yourself, dear one!

Genesis 2:24

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

nowhere does it have male and male, nor female and female

to whom is this NOT clear?

every disobedience to Gods order is called "SIN"

its not hard to understand nor accept the truth, if we want to!!

very true

The steps I believe is of need of great attention in order of discipline and church doctrine of any error of sin in and among its members!
Matthew 18:
15. Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

Galatians 6:1
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

James 5:16
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Leviticus 5:5
5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:

@berean, no im not myself however Ive known people in church who are and just one day stopped coming to church. It makes me worried that people feel God wont accept them. Its a thing that isnt talked about too much, and when someone is homosexual I dont want them to feel they have to not be a part of the church by default. I guess part of this comes from me noticing some people children may not be straight and i dont want them feeling unloved. I also would never ask them because I dont have a relationship with them like that, its personal.
I know people get excommunicated for different things such as fornication(and everyone knows about it), but this theres not any mention that i know of. are people living in fear?

@Alex, When people commit adultery or fornication they also one day stop coming to church. Becoming homosexual just results in the same way. The bible says that the effeminate will not enter in the kingdom of God . Lgbt...is an abomination to God. And as nazarenes , we tend to fly of our handles and say "WHAT, YOU DID THAT!!" , instead of showing the compassion, and bring someone like this to repentance before a holy and just God . If someone is going to justify himself of fornication or adultry, I suggest they stop coming to church! But if they're repentant and want to find help, talk to some compassionate brethren and work on a path to restoration. We all "should" love them and help them in their struggle of sin. No Alex , God won't accept them if they love their sin. And we're not showing a lack of love toward them, but a genuine love in wanting to " pull them out of the fire" (Jude)

absolutely.....

.......true, and very well explained, Berean!

if they cannot be reinstated as a free member, that doesn't mean we need to push them further away from the Church......

I used to attend accn but have left church awhile ago. I was never shunned for being gay because i left before then, but i know many from other churches that have been. The church is pushing people further and further from God and spirituality.

It's a shame because Jesus didn't say 1 thing about homosexuality. Jesus was a radical in his time and all he said was love God and love others, PERIOD. Why can't xians learn that better and stop shunning people because we see differently. That's exactly why i dont attend church anymore.

the bible states, that we need to be holy.

1 Peter 1:16
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

holy means:
- exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness
- having a divine quality
- having a spiritually pure quality

the opposite of being holy is being defiled.

the bible talks about defile here:

1 Corinthians 3:17
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

defile means:

- to make unclean or impure: such as

a: to corrupt the purity
b: to violate the chastity or virginity
c: to make unclean with something contaminating
d: to violate the sanctity
e: to spoil the goodness or beauty of something
f: to spoil by making it become less beautiful or pure

Genesis 2:24 states:

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

The words of Jesus:
Mark 10:
6. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8. And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

when was the word "homosexuality" created in the english language?

does anyone know how long ago?

when did God implement Genesis 2:24?

does anyone know how long ago?

lets be realistic with ourselves, the lusts of our flesh, the pride of our life, and sin.

Leviticus 18:22
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

to "out and proud":

did Jesus state you cant kill someone with your fist?

does that mean, I can kill someone with my fist?

did Jesus state you cant kill someone with a rifle or pistol?

does that mean I can kill someone with a rifle or a pistol?

we can use a bible verse to justify our sin, by stating the verse related to the topic here in Revelation 13:10 that states:

...........he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword...

so, we can kill people in any other way, except using a sword?

is that the meaning here "out and proud"?

Hello Out and Proud,

I don't know if this site will allow the posting of links, but here is a link to a clip on YouTube where the speaker answers the question of whether Jesus addressed homosexuality in the Bible:

You can search for it on YouTube if you'd like. Try this search term, and it should be the first video that pops up: "did jesus address homosexuality voddie baucham"

You may not believe me when I say this, but I feel enormous compassion for you. My "battle" is lust. Lust for women in my case. I can tell you that I don't like it, and yet I'm in the body my Lord gave me, and it's exactly the way He wants it to be. And yet, His Word instructs me not to sin. Sometimes I fail, and that is a time for repentance and tears. But I've learned, that if I want peace of heart with Him, I just cannot follow after my lusts and do what my body wants to do. I just can't. My heart yearns for Him. And it's getting better and better the closer I try to walk with Him.

Your battle is different from mine. Well, maybe not so different at the end of the day -- both involve carnal urges of the flesh. But the fact of the matter is, the Bible says that your battle and mine both are sin. I urge you to cry out to Him, friend. I think you deep down know this. There is no justification for sinning, neither yours nor mine. Come to Him, and He can set you free from this, and even change what men never think is possible to change. And if He does not change this desire that you feel is innate, He promises grace to be faithful to Him, as there is nothing that has overtaken us that is common to man.

I'm sorry if you've experienced 'shunning' or people separating company from you, especially if you haven't become part of the body of Christ. We Christians sometimes recoil from sin and mistakenly apply that to the individual. All sin is ugly. But the truth is, there is none rightous, no not one. All are guilty before God, including you. Please don't reject Jesus' blood sacrifice on your behalf, over misguided behavior on the part of God's children. And please don't make the fatal mistake of not recognizing sin for what it is. Read Romans 1 in the Bible, and you'll find that homosexuality is part of the judgement of God to a people who refuse to acknowledge Him.

May you (and everyone) find the grace of God to help you overcome and to live in joy in Him. :)

what part of:

Romans 1:
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.

27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

.....is unclear to anyone???

Heterosexual will not be going to hell, it is fornicator, adulterers, and yes all sins of immorality
Including same sex acts and animal defilement.
But also he that makes and loves lies.
Looks like many people on this website fit some of the ones who will be in danger of hell fire.
